The open-world nautical RPG Sea of Remnants (published by NetEase and developed by Joker Studio) is launching its highly anticipated collaboration with SpongeBob SquarePants on August 6, 2026. Following the PC open beta launch on July 9 and the mobile release in July, this limited-time crossover event arrives as part of a major summer update across both PC and mobile platforms.

First teased alongside multi-IP plans featuring Alan Walker and Identity V, and later re-confirmed in official dev updates and trailers, this collaboration brings iconic Bikini Bottom themes directly into the game’s oceanic world. Sea of Remnants x SpongeBob Collaboration Outfits and Cosmetics

The crossover introduces four unique character outfits inspired by classic SpongeBob SquarePants characters, along with a specially themed ship skin.

Character Outfits

• Ace (艾丝): Features the Echo Variation Set “Ace Chef” (王牌主厨). Designed around SpongeBob, this outfit showcases a jellyfish-catching and chef aesthetic, complete with a Gary the Snail (小蜗) accessory. It is obtainable through the limited-time Collection Exchange (典藏兑换) and cannot be traded.
• Gale (盖尔): Features the Echo Outfit “Swinging Party Star” (摇摆派对星), a lively party-style outfit themed after Patrick Star.
• Molly (茉莉): Features the Echo Outfit “Sleepy Cashier” (困困收银员), capturing a tired cashier look inspired by Squidward Tentacles.
• Iron-fist Commander (铁腕统领): Features the Inspiration Outfit “Puffed Red Pincer” (气鼓鼓红钳), designed around Mr. Krabs with a red claw motif.

Ship Skin and Motions

• Drift Bottle Ship (漂流瓶号): Receives the Inspiration Paint “Jellyfish Catcher” (抓水母号), a ship exterior themed around jellyfish hunting.
• Special Motions: Idle and action animations incorporating classic show elements—such as blowing bubbles and catching jellyfish—are implemented as idle behaviors for select characters.

Bikini Bottom Comes to Otopia Port

During the event period, a Krusty Krab branch (蟹堡王分店) will officially open in Otopia (奥托皮亚), one of the primary port cities in Sea of Remnants.

As shown in official promotional videos and notices, a themed space inspired by Bikini Bottom will be integrated directly into the game’s sea and port environments. Original characters, including SpongeBob, Patrick, and Squidward, will make appearances through in-game events and cinematic sequences. Players can participate in various activities formatted under the “Open World Amusement Guide” (大世界游乐指南) event system.
